Bayern Munich appear very confident about securing the services of Manchester City s Leroy Sane soon.
The Bundesliga champions have long been linked with the winger. A deal was reportedly very close last summer, before Sane injured his knee in City s Community Shield triumph against Liverpool last August, which has kept him out of first-team action for the entire 2019/20 season so far. His contract is about to enter its final 12 months, and there have been no hints of a possible extension.
A recent report suggested that the Premier League champions would be willing to sanction a sale, but only for the right price, meaning that they wouldn t allow Sane to leave for any kind of a reduced fee.
Nonetheless, Bayern s vice-chairman Uli Hoeness recently spoke to radio …
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has urged his side to squeeze something out of this season as they attempt to finish 2020-21 in strong fashion.
The Premier League champions are seventh in the table on 46 points, a remarkable 36 fewer than they had amassed after the same number of matches last term.
With nine games to go, the race is on for the Reds as they attempt to close the five-point gap to the top four, starting with Saturday s clash with ninth-place Arsenal.
Liverpool claimed back-to-back wins over Wolves and RB Leipzig in the Champions League prior to the international break, a positive change after a run of nine defeats and just five wins in 17 games in all competitions.
Klopp is now targeting a strong mini-season to give his side the best chance …

The former Santos man scored once and provided an assist, while also having a hand in Brazil s third goal, as the upcoming World Cup hosts recovered from a shock early concession.
Raul Meireles, who had hit the woodwork six minutes earlier with a header, put Portugal in front in the 18th minute at Gillette Stadium, after making the most of a defensive howler from Maicon.
The Roma right back was attempting to send the ball back to his goalkeeper Julio Cesar via his head, but Fenerbahce midfielder Meireles was quick to realise the opportunity with the former Chelsea man intercepting with a touch, before tucking away the opener past the helpless Brazilian g…

The Brazil international was reportedly a firm target for Louis van Gaal at Manchester United in 2015, with the forward s agent claiming that an offer said to be worth close to £140million had been tabled.
Rumours have emerged in recent weeks that Jose Mourinho has made contact personally with Neymar in order to test the water before launching a new bid at the end of the season.

David Silva and Gerard Deulofeu scored second-half goals to secure a 2-0 victory for Spain in a keenly contested friendly match with France on Tuesday.
The duo made the difference following their introduction from the bench after Antoine Griezmann had seen a goal correctly ruled out for offside by the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), which was deployed in successful fashion in Saint-Denis.
Both teams named strong starting XIs for the encounter, with France handing a first start to rising Monaco star Kylian Mbappe and a debut for Corentin Tolisso, while the visitors made only four changes to the side that started the 4-1 World Cup qualifying win over Israel last Friday.
Mbappe and Spain captain Andres Iniesta came closest to opening the scoring before Griezmann sa…
