Casillas in the dark over Spain fate

Iker Casillas claims he has no idea who Vicente Del Bosque will pick in goal for Spain at Euro 2016.

Casillas has been Spain s number one since the World Cup in 2002, helping his country to win the European Championship in 2008 and 2012, either side of becoming world champions in South Africa in 2010.

Despite some struggles at club level, the goalkeeper kept his place during a disappointing World Cup campaign in 2014, when the holders lost to the Netherlands and Chile to bow out in the group stage.

But, having left Real Madrid for Porto last year, the 35-year-old s position is under considerable threat from David de Gea, who has excelled in recent seasons for Manchester United.

Depay opens the door to Barcelona: ´Who wouldn´t like to go to Barca?´

Memphis Depay has talked up his transfer link with Barcelona, acknowledging any player would want to play for the Catalan giants.

Speculation around Barca s interest in the Lyon forward has been particularly strong since Depay s former Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman arrived as the club s new coach in August.

Depay remained with Lyon when the transfer window closed in early October, but his contract expires next year.

While Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has insisted he will not sanction a deal in January, as he is not prepared to miss out on European football for a second successive season, Barca may opt to test his resolve as the Ligue 1 side face missing out on a transfer fee.

Failing to earn a move to Barca for this season does not appear to have …

Manchester United goalkeeper Pereira loaned to Hearts

Manchester United have loaned goalkeeper Joel Pereira to Scottish Premiership side Hearts for the duration of the 2019-20 campaign.

The 23-year-old was part of United s squad for their pre-season tour of Australia and Asia, featuring as a half-time substitute in the wins against Perth Glory and Leeds United.

Pereira has made just three competitive appearances for United since emerging from their academy in 2015, however, and was behind David De Gea, Sergio Romero and Lee Grant in the goalkeeping pecking order.

He is embarking on his fifth spell away from Old Trafford, having previously spent time on loan with Rochdale, Belenenses, Vitoria Setubal and Kortrijk.

Welcome to Hearts

Real Madrid to prioritise Eriksen

According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid are set to prioritise the potential signing of Christian Eriksen during the summer transfer window. The Dane’s contract with Tottenham Hotspur will expire in 2020, with many fans believing that he’s already got one foot out of the door. Real have made no secret of the fact that they’re interested in signing him, and now that Zinedine Zidane has returned to the club, it seems like the desire to bring him to the Bernabeu has strengthened. Real have a history of going after some of Tottenham’s biggest stars in recent times, with two notable examples being Luka Modric and Gareth Bale.

Eriksen first joined Spurs back in 2013, when he made the jump over from Dutch club Ajax. Ever since then he’s been able to establish himsel…
